APPLICATION TO San Carlos SEMINARY 2026-2027
Calling young men who are considering the vocation to serve the Lord and his Church as diocesan priests. San Carlos Seminary, the archdiocesan seminary of Manila, is now welcoming applicants for the academic year 2026-2027.
General Qualifications

- Physically and mentally healthy
- Intellectually able
- Faithful to his spiritual and moral life as a Catholic
- Educational Attainment
- for the Propaedeutic Stage (pre-college) or the Discipleship Stage (college)
- Senior High School graduate (Grade 12 when applying), or college student or college graduate who is less than 25 years old
- for Configuration Stage (theology)
- graduate of philosophy from a college seminary
- for the Propaedeutic Stage (pre-college) or the Discipleship Stage (college)
Step 1. Online Sign-up
The applicant shall sign up through Google Forms for the schedule of initial screening and submission of preliminary requirements. He may also contact Ms Ella May Villas at (02) 8895 88 55 local 0 or send an email to admissions@scs.edu.ph.

The applicant shall also upload soft copies the following preliminary requirements:
- Letter of Recommendation from any of the following:
- school head or rector (if from another seminary)
- vocation director of the diocese
- parish priest
- copy of recent grades (Form 138 or TOR)
- 1 piece of a recent 2 x 2 picture
- proof of payment for ₱ 300.00 (initial testing fee)
Step 2. Initial Tests and Interview:
The applicant shall come to San Carlos Seminary to undergo initial tests and be interviewed by the Admissions Director. He shall also submit the hard copies of all the preliminary requirements.
Step 3. Further Interviews and Requirements:
The applicant who passed the initial tests and interview, he will be further interviewed by three formators.
He shall also pay a ₱ 1,500.00 psychological assessment fee and submit the following documents.
- Letter of Recommendation from his bishop (if the applicant is not from the Archdiocese of Manila)
- Medical Certificate of “Fitness to Study”
- Must be secured from a tertiary hospital or diagnostic clinic
- Must indicate having undergone complete blood count, chest x-ray, urinalysis, and physical examination
- NBI clearance (for applicants to Configuration or those with work experience)
- Letters of Recommendation from previous employer/s (for applicants with work experience)
- Letters of recommendation from other Catholic organizations, communities, or movements that the applicant is part of
Step 4. Results and Other Documents:
The result of the assessment and deliberations process shall be communicated to the applicant through email. If he passes the assessment screening, he shall then be asked to submit the following documents.
- Baptismal, confirmation and birth certificates (original or certified true copy)
- Canonical marriage certificate of parents (original or certified true copy)
- High school report card – Form 138 (for high school applicants)
- Original transcript of records – TOR (for college applicants)
- Transfer of academic credentials (for college applicants)
Release of Results: last week of March 2026
Entrance to the Seminary: last week of May 2026
